About the event
Dr. Ana Zaiko:
“Faster, Simpler, Smarter: Rethinking how we collect eDNA from water”
Collecting eDNA should not be the bottleneck. Yet in dynamic aquatic systems, patchy signals, dilution, and low-shedding targets often mean we are chasing faint traces with small-volume samples. In this webinar, she will introduce a suite of sampling solutions developed by Sequench to tackle exactly that problem and designed for waterborne eDNA collection across diverse contexts: high-speed open-water sampling in lakes and marine systems, shore-based sampling, vessel-integrated systems, and emerging opportunities for autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) integration, and automated workflows. These tools are designed to be robust, affordable, and usable beyond specialist labs, while maintaining contamination control and field efficiency. She will also share field-testing results and discuss how scaling sample volume and spatial coverage can directly strengthen early detection and biosecurity outcomes.
